Golden South Sea Pearls Golden South Sea pearls grown in the South Sea pearl oysters are among the most sought for pearls in the world. South Sea pearl oysters grow to nearly 30 centimeters, which is exceptionally large compared to Japanese Akoya oysters. The color of a pearl depends on the oyster's nacre; a silver-lipped pearl oyster gives mostly clean, white pearls, while creamy white to deep gold pearls are cultivated and harvested from golden-lipped pearl oysters.

ゴールデンパールとは南洋真珠の一種でとても貴重な真珠です。 南洋真珠を生み出す白蝶貝は、日本のあこや貝と比べて非常に大型で、成長すると約 30cm の大きさとなります。 白蝶貝の内側の内面真珠層の色には、銀色に輝くもの(シルバー リップ)と金色に輝くもの(ゴールドリップ)があり、 シルバーリップのものからはホワイト、シルバー系の白蝶真珠が、 そしてゴールドリップのものからは、 黄金色に輝く真珠がつくりだされるのです。
